Kyoto University established the office of Institutional Advancement and Communication (IAC) on April 1, 2024. This strategic initiative aims to fortify our research capabilities and advance structural reforms towards a more autonomous university organization.
The office of Institutional Advancement and Communication (IAC) consolidates various entities, including the Office of Society Academia Collaboration for Innovation, Open Innovation Institute, Kyoto University Fund, and the Kyoto University Medical Science and Business Liaison Organization.
Moving Forward, the office of Institutional Advancement and Communication aims to generate new value through endeavors such as commercializing research outcomes and supporting startups. We also seek to enhance communication between the university and society, while intensifying fundraising efforts, including soliciting donations. These funds will be reinvested in the university to further foster independent and autonomous research activities, thereby enabling sustained growth for our institution.
