Kyoto University and “Kansai Startup Academia Coalition (KSAC)” have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BioLabs Global

April 3, 2024, Kyoto, Japan: The Kansai Startup Academia Coalition (KSAC), of which Kyoto University is the lead institution, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with top global incubator, Biolabs Global (“Biolabs”) of the United States.

KSAC is a platform that aims to build a world-class startup ecosystem by creating a virtuous cycle of human resources, research projects, and funds, expanding the base of entrepreneurs in the Kansai region, and continuously creating university-launched startups. The platform aims to build a world-class startup ecosystem.

Biolabs is a leading global innovation support platform that enables and accelerates life science innovation. Located in key biotechnology innovation clusters, BioLabs currently operates at 15 locations in the US, Europe, and Japan. Built by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, BioLabs pairs premium, fully-equipped and supported lab and office space with unparalleled access to a global network of capital and industry partners. By creating fertile, supportive ecosystems allow nascent biotech startups on innovation, not lab operations, BioLabs accelerates the pace of life science innovation.

Under the MOU, Kyoto University and KSAC and Biolabs will collaborate and to create acceleration programs, share diverse know-how based on past achievements and experience, develop life science incubation facilities for startups, and will work together to build the innovation ecosystem in the Kansai region.
